Oktoberfest 2026 Ends This Weekend
Oktoberfest 2026 ends this Sunday, Oct. 4, in Munich, and it's been busier than last year: an estimated 3.8 million visitors by the halfway point (3.5 million at the same point in 2025). Entry to the grounds and tents is free. Bags can't be bigger than 3 liters and 20 × 15 × 10 cm (about 8 × 6 × 4 in). There's no visitor parking, so take the U-Bahn (U4/U5 to Theresienwiese) or the S-Bahn. No reservation? The big tents must keep seats open for walk-ins: 25% on weekdays, 40% until 3 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Saturday, Oct. 3, is German Unity Day, a national holiday, so expect the biggest crowds of Oktoberfest 2026. Go early.
